  3. After watching this video I have to say that I agree with the premise of the video. It is a skewed view of the goverment but inevitably it is correct. My opinion is that I agree with this video because the other types of government don't work, or they end up taking all the power. I belive that democracy wouldn't work because the system, or majority of the people, may end up being corrupt; or would become corrupt eventually. In conclusion I agree with the video in saying a republic is the only type of government that would allow its people to be free without collapsing. -Mitch

  4. I watched the video and honestly...i was confused. I did not completely understand. How can we be sure our government is the only one that wont fall apart? Are we so big headed to think that because we are american that we are right? If we were part of a different government would we still say a republic government is the right one or would we yet again say that our government is the only way to go??? This video is stupid. And that is how i feel.

  5. after watching this video i learned alot.i neverknew there were so many different types of government. i also was stunned about all of the conflicts that came with the different types of gevernment. The only government that seemed like a logical one to me was republic. So if i was to start a government i would do a repulic one.

  6. This movie gives you a lot to think about!
I disagree with the movie because it claims that a Democracy it not even considered a government, because when the majority becomes corrupted, it fails. I think that any form of government could fail if the majority becomes corrupted against it. In a Republic, if the majority are corrupt, there is a good chance that some of the people in power are corrupt as well.

I think that the best form of government can only do for the people what they can't do for themselves.

  7. I don't believe government has 100% power over the United States. And I thought monarchy was ruled by king or queen and it did exist. But I do agree that without government, we would have chaos. And have countries lived in an anarchy type government? In a democracy, they can't take our houses, our towns, stuff like that due to the life, liberty, property law. I thought our country was a democracy, but according to this video, we're more of a republic, and I don't necessarily agree with that. The whole Roman thing sounds more like a theory rather than actual facts. This video is somewhat confusing and it makes me think about what I've been taught about our government system because it's going against everything I've learned up to this point.

  8. I agree with this video for the most part. It was interesting to learn about the true nature of each of these forms of government. I agree that there truly is no such thing as monarchy, because even if the naion has a single ruler, they are going to have a group behind them. It was interesting to learn about how democracy isn't found in the Consitution or the Declaration of Independance. I feel like in America we have combined a Rebulic and Democractic government. I strongly believe that we should abide by the Constitution 100%.

  9. Karly Said...
This video was a very big shock to me. To think that we might some day end up as an Oligarchy. I agree with the video though. If we put our guard down for one minute some power hungry person, like Ceasar, will take out the government and form the Oligarchy. I do like how our government isn't a majority rules but all must agree or disagree. This video was a huge shock but I did learn more about the differences between the different types of government and figured out which one I like more. Rebuplic

  10. While watching this video I couldn't help but feel a little attacked. It made me think 'that will never happen to us,' then I started to think about how the Romans probably thought exactly like that. The main thing in this video that struck me was the realization that maybe our government isn't as strong and sure as we believe, and that maybe someday we too could fall. It makes me believe that we need to continue to follow the constitution no matter what and that we cannot let ourselves fall into a democracy. In the end I decided that I do agree with the premise of the video on this point.

  11. After watching this video it made me realize that there are a lot of different types of government that not alot of people know about. In my opinion I do agree with the video because people who don't know much about the government would just go along with everyone else thinking democracy is the best but they don't even know about republic which in my opinion is the best type of government because it is the most controlled.-Patricia

  12. After watching this video I really agree with what they are talking about. I agree that if our government was democracy it would fall apart. So I would have to say that out of all the governments the most logical one would be republic and buy having a republic governemnt we would be less likely to fall apart.

  13. I agree with the premise of the video. He uses logical reasoning to get to a conclusion. He doesn't just come out and say the only two kinds of government are oligarchy and republic. I also don't think that he is off in his way of getting to the conclusion. He uses what is useful to support his claim and leaves out what would work against him. I am sure that there is plenty of evidence that would work against him, I just don't know it. I think that he is right to an extent but I don't think that he is completely right. I do believe that a republic is the best. It just seems, so far, like the best form of government.

  14. I agree with the opinion of who made this video. It seems like the person knew how to approch the subject and did their research. By giving a whole spectrum of government it really gives eveyrone a look at what is out there. Having a republic government does seem like the best thing for now, it has been working so i dont think it should be changed.

  15. I agree with this point of view on government. I learned that there are many more types of government than you think. A republic government seems to be the best one since democracy isn't really considered a government. Most people probably don't even know much about a republic, and we need to start learning more about it. To think we could be an oligarchy one day is scary. I think that we need a republic to make us stronger. It takes a lot to make a government work and be strong and successful.

  16. As the video stated, the Republic form of government has been the most stable, and has worked really well for the United States. The other forms government were ok for a while, but later on ended up taking the freedom from people and destruction of property. Without laws restricting the power of the government, or the power of the people, the power hungry would take over, and we would not be free.

  17. After watching the video I believe that some of the things it's saying are true, but I'm skeptical about some things as well. The part where it talks about a monarchy not really existing is one of the things I'm skeptical about. It says that the ruler has nobles which help rule, which may be true, but still the king or queen has complete power over those nobles so I do not believe you can simply eliminate monarchy because it does exist. The same with a dictatorship. Another part I'm skeptical about is the video's view on the political spectrum. I don't think you can just group all of the governments we view as bad such as Fascism and Communism onto one side because they are totally different forms of government. I researched the political spectrum, and I found that there are so many representations of it that I'm not sure which one is totally correct. But still none of the ones I looked at looked like the one they said was right on the video.

  18. After watching the video I have to say that I agree with that it is saying. I agree with that video when it says that there is no true monarchy and there is no real anarchy and that both of these governments are based on a group of people. In a monarchy, the king/ruler would have almost no power without the help of his followers because without them he would have no one to boss around. In anarchy, it is the same way. The groups of people that start saying they want no government are usually the ones that end up in charge.

  19. I agree with this opinion on government. Republic government seems to be the strongest and to work the best. But just because we are Americans, doesn't mean that our government isn't just as likely to fall as the Romans did. In order to keep our government safe from oligarchy, we will have to be strong. Although, I was surprised to find out that democracy isn't even included in the constitution... shouldn't that tell us enough? Republic government is the way to go!

  20. I believe if you pick at anything enough you can find anything you want. This video is exactly that. Who ever made this video wanted us to think, which isn't a bad thing. I can easily see someone believing what was said, and being easily persuaded by it. But, from the beginning we have called ourselves a democracy, and I believe more then I did before I watched the movie that we are.
We do all have an equal say in decisions that affect our lives. In the video it gives an example asking if the majority were to vote on all of the kids where to be taken from there family would it happen? And if that were to truly happen I do believe that it would be enforced, because we are a, democracy. But the reason this hasn’t happened is because the majority of us are educated and would see it to be inhumane and have no benefit for the people. Therefore, I don’t ever seeing this or any other similar issue being a problem.
What has made us last as a democracy is the fact the majority of us are educated and have been taught to be humane and fare to one another.

  21. I agree with this video. I also found it very interesting to learn about all the different types of government, and how some forms of government fit into other governments. I also found it interesting that democracy isn't even in the Constitution. I had no idea that we were mostly a republic government, but i am glad that the Founding Fathers were smart enough to give us a government that they thought would be best for everyone.

  22. I agree with this video. It was interesting to learn about the different types of government. I also agree with the idea that a republic could become an oligarchy. Its hard to know what a person is thinking, so citizens needs to be careful that they don't put a tyrant into office. Its scary to think that we need to watch out for oligarchy and that it doesn't happen to our country. I also thought it was interesting how the five governments essentially end up being just two types of government.

  23. There are points in this that I agree with, such as how he compares the American state with that of the supposed Roman fall, though my understanding of that event differs greatly from what he spoke of. I do disagree with his brake down of governments as I think that it is too limiting and narrow of a view. Such as with a king who has total power which is not shared with a council of lords but more allows these lords some power under the king to assist his wants. I also disagree with his view of democracy, only in the fact that it will always turn into a horrible oligarchy. In a vast state it may fail but it is possible for it to last or change to a republic. Also, on this point, has any government to date ever not fallen to some other form of government? Government is like the people it rules, constantly changing to fit the needs of its people.

  24. This video taught me about the different kinds of government that we have in the world. I have no clue which one works best. But I am glad that we do have a form of goernment because it helps us to have guidelines we follow to live in freedom. Im glad our founders of America were smart in writing the constitution and Im glad to live in this country because we live a pretty awesome life here. - Evan

  25. Yes, the US is a democracy. No, I don't believe it should be. Gorge Washington, the very first president of the United States, meant for the government to be a republic. That how i believe it should be today. The video taught me that a republic started from the 12 tables of roman law. They made it possible for the people of Rome to produce children and keep them as they wished, along with many other pros. That was significantly easier to learn about more so than oligarchy and anarchy. Probably because i don't live with it on a day to day basis. I do have to mention that the chart at the beginning of the video was confusing to understand. It showed absolute power to the left no power at all to the right. It's not accurate because a government never has complete control over a group of people. People run from the law, sell drugs, and rape people every day, even though there is a "government" in control.

  26. This video taught me about all the different governments and how they came about. It showed me the good and bad sides to all of them. I agree with mainly everything this video said. One part that I really agree with is the part that said eventually democracy exhausts and kills itself!

  27. I thought the video was very interesting on how they taught about all the different governments . I believe that we need to keep are government the way it has worked out and they way it was ment to be from are for fathers. But the video was good to learn the differences in them.

  28. honestly i had a hard time keeping up with the video but it was quite informing i agree with parts of it they did a really good job defining the different forms of government and the way they explained them and i agree with most of it
