  1. The article talks about people from all around the country loosing their jobs. One of them being IT specialists, which is a very important job in the U.S. federal government. It explains how China and India are having an economic boom which is allowing them to buy more than what is necessary. This can be seen as a good, thing because plenty of that money they are bringing back to America by vacationing. The article states that from 2003, the amount of Chinese citizens traveling outside of the country rose to 54%. In my opinion if we are loosing our jobs because China's and India's laborers are willing to work longer and harder shifts, then we have to adjust and do the same thing. Having the power means you have to work harder than anyone else to get to the top.

  2. In this article there are two sides that both have valid points. The first one is that people are losing their jobs, and on the other is that there are positive effects of the China and India boom. Personally I do not believe that this is a bad thing. I see how people can be mad, but there are now people who have lived in countries that have always struggled that now are starting to become wealthier. I am happy for those people that are working so hard to earn just a little money. This situation isn't really effecting me, so I do not have a problem with it. I also think that the people that do have a problem with it will have to do the same as the people in China or India and suck it up, work harder, and work longer if they really want those jobs.

  3. In this article they are discussing the idea of americans losing there jobs to other countries. But in the long run i think it will help benefit everyone. They have helped with the recession a ton and there is no reason to panic as the article says, so i think as long as we are making money and keeping jobs open i think its fine. And yes i Agree that if we lose jobs its bad but in the long run it would help everyone have a job.

  4. In this article it says that the economies of China and India are growing. The article also says that we, As Americans, may lose our jobs to the Chinese or Indians because of how little they're willing to work for. I think this is important because it helps the people of a once poor country to become wealthier.
In my opinion I do believe that Americans are losing jobs to Chinese or Indian workers, and that the Chinese and Indian economies are growing. I also believe, however, that the American economy will bounce back and produce more jobs and more products than it already does. -Mitch

I thought this was a very interesting article because it shows how far China and India have come, economically, in just a few years. I thing it is kind of ridiculous that Americans are losing their jobs to other people who are willing to work for less. In a way it show how lazy America is becoming, because we get paid great but we complain about that amount so they give the job to someone who loves that amount. I think that America should try to be less greedy and maybe people from other countries wont steal our good paying jobs. --Karly

  6. Think about it: American jobs leaving the US and going over to China and India. And in return, all new jobs that no one has ever done before. So what does this mean for us? Current jobs lost and new ones coming. Our jobs are given to those who will work under any standards and for little pay. But the good news? China's and India's economy is rising. I know that might sound bad but honestly, it's a good thing. It lessens the people who are in poverty in those countries, and that will help our world. I have seen poverty. I know what it's like for those people living off of grains of rice, trying to survive. But with a raise of pay? They can better themselves by being able to buy what they really need and when they need it. Which will help our world economy. Yes our currency may change, but you have to accept change. It's part of life. And this is what I've learned from this article.

  7. In this article it talks about americans losing their jobs and the chinese and indians getting them. I personally hate that idea. Mostly because I have a job and if I was to be fired and find out that my job was being given to someone else just because their country can manufacture more than mine...well there would be some angry words passed between my boss and myself before anything else. And maybe even a law suit. That cannot be legal.

  8. Im this article it is talking about americans loosing there jobs due to the chinese and the indians. Honestly my opinion is I dont really care, because the chinese and indians are smart and are now making money so, hey good for them, and if it is effecting some of the americans well maybe they should learn a lesson from the indians and chinese, but at the same time I can see how this would upset you if you lost your job.

  9. The article talks about some Americans loosing their jobs to Indians and Chinese. What I think about the article is that it should make everyone see it as a challange. If Americans don't want to rise up and fight for their jobs then they deserve to not have them. Having a job doesn't mean you don't have to work for it. Our world is always changing and everyone should always strive to improve just like China and India did.

  10. I think that if China and India are doing this this is good for them. if they are doing this so they can have more money to have to spend on trips traveling to other places, or if they want to buy new cars and new tvs more power to them. as far as im concerned i just wish the U.S. did it first.

  11. This article is explaining how the U.S is losing all of their jobs. They are all moving to China and India because of our workers. People over there are willing to work for so much less leaving them with more job opportunities. Americans are turning to unemployment because they arent happy with their wages. With our unemployment rate, our government is only losing money. Most amercans are probably loving unemployment, they are getting paid to sit on their butt. This is putting us in a deeper hole of debt. China is on top of every industry including travel. It's nice that they found a way to pull themselves out of povery, but as americans we need to be on top. We need to get out of this recession and lead every industry and take whatever jobs we can get.

  12. This article describes the loss of American jobs due to China and India's economys rising. I think that Americans need to learn that not everything is given to them. There are going to be times where they are going to have to fight for what they have. The Indians and Chinese have already had the time period where they have worked themselves nearly to death just for the little necessities they need to survive. Don't get me wrong, I would be mad if I lost my job to such a thing. But this just pushes me to work harder.

  13. The article explains how China and India are taking all of the American jobs that we are known for. It also explains how the economies of China and India are growing and that they are becoming more of a consumer nation, which means that they will need/want more things than they used to and because of that they will import more things than they used to which will lead to them outsourcing more and giving jobs to us like we gave to them. I think that they are doing a good thing for their countries and that is not so much different than what we did for ourselves (America.) It is the way of life for some things to grow at different times. I don't think that we will be left behind and become a second or even third world country all of the sudden because of what they are doing for their economy and country. We will keep some things that are unique to our economy and grow in some ways of our own. It doesn't mean the end of the world for us if other countries do well or even thrive, just wait a few years and they will go through a civil war or something.

  14. The article talks about how workers in the U.S. are losing their job while so many is China and India are gaining jobs and their economies are booming. That is only logical to me, when the U.S. economy started faltering these two countries used that and it has benefited them greatly. The world is constantly shifting who is at the top and China and India are doing all they can to make sure it is them and improve the lives of those that live in their countries, then those people go and spread the wealth; they travel around the world spending money. I don't think it is a bad thing at all, I think they have worked for what they have. -Shelbie

  15. This article talks about how many American jobs are being taken by India and China, thus making them more prosperous and wealthy nations. As a result they begin to spend more money, travel the world, and import more resources into their countries. Because of their frivolous spending, more money is brought back into our country through tourism, trade, ect. In my opinion I don't think this issue is a bad one because these countries end up spreading the wealth anyway. Their actions are helping many countries stay out of recession by upping exports and tourism rates. Although I will admit, I'm not sure I like the idea of one day not being able to get a job here in the United States.

  16. I think this article was informative but should also be considered as a warning. I don't like that we are so dependent on other countries. I don't think it is good for other countries to prosper and us to stay idle. Other countries want to be like us. We have the resources and the technology, that is why we are the worlds leader. We need to prosper in our own country. I don't agree with allowing foreign people in our country and let them take our jobs. We need to take our education, national finances, government, and work ethnic more seriously. By doing those things we can remain a strong united country. - Kaitlynn

  17. This article is basically saying that Americans could loose their jobs to people who live in China or India. Giving these country citizens more money to spend on entertainment and travel. It also says they will be giving money back through tourism, that is if they choose to travel to America. I don't see how this helps America out that much. It won't create new jobs for Americans, maybe a few more hotels and such, but that doesn't count for much. Times are hard and even with tourism thousands of Americans are still out on the street. It is good to see China and India's economy going up, but a global fight for jobs will decrease Americans chances at getting a job. I don't think this is completely a bad thing, I just don't believe this will benefit Americans all that much.

  18. With the moves to China and India, we should be wary of how the business we are working for are doing. With the constant strain of a failing economy; of course a business owner will want to move somewhere that the economy is booming.

With the cheap labor, the high demand in jobs and the high amount of businesses moving, it would almost be easy for a struggling business owner to move to China or India. It might also help the United States economy by not having to give businesses bailouts from the U.S. government. It could be good for our economy at the cost of lost jobs.

  19. In this article it talks about how American jobs are moving to China and India and how their economies are rising and they are becoming wealthier. My first thought was, "Good for them." I feel bad that Americans are losing their jobs, but this should be a good lesson not to take things for granted and not to be so lazy. The people from China and India are willing to work more for less, which makes them good workers. I think that the people who are more willing to work for jobs should get them. - Larissa

  20. This article is about how America is losing jobs because of the economy rise in China and India. It tells about how far China and India have came in just a few years, how they use to only be able to afford the strickly need to have things, if that, and now they are able to afford extra. I think that it's great that the people that have worked so hard to get just a little are now able to keep working that hard but really get something in return. Although it does make things more difficult in America. Making it harder to find jobs.

  21. Patricia: To me this article tells us how American jobs are being taken by India and China, because of the economic shift to the East. I believe that you have to work for what you really want, and they are showing us that. It is sad that we are losing our jobs, but it comes to show how hard we are working for them. I think since india is one of the more poor countries that the money they have been working hard for will help them out.

  22. This is basically about how Americans are losing jobs to people in India and China. It is also about how this unfortunate circumstance for some Americans can be good for people in China and India, and can actually be good for the United States as well. Where before a vast number of people in China and India were making only enough to survive. Now some of them are making enough to buy things from other countries including the US and contribute to the economy that way. That part about the whole situation is good but at the cost of American jobs. To the people that say Americans are lazy and just need to work harder to save their jobs. I don't agree with you. While I do agree that there are lazy Americans. It's not really about that. If what you're saying is true than that means there are no lazy Chinese or Indian people, which I doubt is the case. It's about what people are used to. In America people are used to working for more money compared to people in other countries who are working and just getting enough to survive. We see a job that to us seems to have ridiculous hours and ridiculous pay, but someone from another country sees it as an opportunity to be a little bit better off and jumps on it. Even if a particular person from China or India doesn't want the job, there are thousands more who do. To me it seems pretty hard for an American to compete with that, when those people are willing to work for such low wages. I don't know this for sure but I bet that the cost of living is more expensive in America. - Aaron

  23. This article is about the mass exodus of jobs to the Asian market. This movement is the basic steps that will create another superpower as well as move the world one step closer to a global economy. This is because, with the poor Asian countries gaining more money and power, the economy begins to have less and less to do with each individual country and more to do with the whole world. While in the long run this is a good thing for international reasons, what the author fails to speak of is the idea that this will at some point increase the job amounts in America, and seems to, in fact, avoid this as if they believe it will not happen. This leads to the fact that this will decrease the market on U.S. soil and will increase them on a global scale, which will benefit us in the U.S. only if we move to join in the global economy, which sounds frighteningly close to a global empire. -Greg

  24. This article was about U.S. jobs being moved to China and India because their economy is doing better than the U.S. economy. It's a good situation for China and India because their countries have been poor for so many years and its good to see their economy picking up. Moving to another country whose economy is better than the U.S. seems like a great idea, but in the long run would you be helping your own country's economy? I think this article helps raise an important question. Is the U.S. too dependent on other countries for basic goods? If the U.S. would start producing their own goods and start importing them to other countries it would bring in more revenue from other countries, as well as create jobs in the U.S. and lower the unemployment rate. The U.S. could save money also by using the oil and gas that we have available already on our home soil and stop buying so much foreign oil and gas products. And if we're too dependent on another country and a conflict rises between the U.S. and the importer we may lose basic goods that we're not prepared to start producing ourselves.

  25. I think that we should support America and buy American made products and not from other countries. There is no reason for us to pay another country to make something that we can make ourselves and to support them while we are going into debt. I did find the article interesting because I had not thought of that in that way. I really never thought that money would come back to Americans in ways of tourism. I really just think we should be making more in American. It does make me think that we should be spending money in American supporting our own country instead of making other countries wealthier though.

  28. "Sure, in this new economic order, your job may be lost to Chinese or Indian workers. But don't worry. They'll give it right back."
The only Americans that would benefit from this are the people in charge of the tourist attractions! They are taking our jobs, but at least they are opening up more jobs of building and shipping their new iPhones and TVs! If smart people from China are taking our jobs, it will take smarter people to keep the jobs we have! It would be pretty disappointing to graduate college to find the only jobs available are supplying China with their new toys!

  29. This topic has not bothered me for a few reasons. First, the line of work i want to go into will not be affected by this situation because it can't be moved it would only make me want to work harder to earn it, like the people in China and India. The countries this article is talking about deserve a break and need a turn being on top for once. Overall I fill this topic is uplifting.

  30. This is about Americans losing their jobs to India and China. It is a good and a bad thing. It is good because China and India are getting more jobs, but it is bad because Americans are losing jobs. In our economy right now Americans need jobs. However, India and China are probably loving it because they are getting jobs that are improving their poverty. Yeah, it does suck that Americans are losing jobs but sometimes you just have to deal with it even though it sucks.

  31. This article is about our country losing our jobs to other countries like China and India. From seeing the recession, and how it affects people in this country, what I always hear is about how many people are losing jobs, and ways that we need to create jobs here in America, so we can survive and live the lives we are so used to living. So in my opinion it is a bad thing that we are losing our jobs... But, I am glad to hear that all the poor people living in China and India, from these jobs, are experiencing a higher standard of living. I think it is a great thing that they are benefitting from our loss, but I also want us our country to stay the way it is and keep the standard of living we have.
